Mom’s Crock-Pot Lentil Soup

A delicious cold November night remedy, thanks Mom! 🙂

  • 1 bag of lentils (16oz)
  • 2 large carrots, chopped
  • 2 large stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 container of chicken broth (32 oz)
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 cups of crushed tomatoes
  • Ham bone (Normally we use a ham bone but my mom didn’t have a ham bone. Instead she sautéed ham in a skillet with garlic and oil and put that in instead)
  • Pasta, optional ( We didn’t use pasta but if you would like you can add that in there about 10 minutes before serving so it does not get mushy)
  • Salt and pepper

  1. Place all ingredients in the crock pot
  2. Set your crock pot to low and cook for 8 hours covered.
